Huntington Bank has officially entered the Montgomery market, nearly five months after acquiring Cadence Bank in an all-stock transaction valued at $7.4 billion.

If you caught our coverage last week, you likely noticed the Montgomery branch transitioning its physical signage ahead of this week’s formal, system-wide launch.

The regional banking shake-up scales Huntington’s footprint significantly across the South. By absorbing Cadence Bank’s existing network, the Columbus, Ohio-headquartered financial institution expands its total operations to include more than 1,400 branches across 21 states. This includes the addition of more than 390 branch locations spanning across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee + Texas.

What the Huntington Bank transition means for Montgomery customers

For Montgomery area consumers, Monday marks the formal “Day One” completion of the system integration. The new Huntingdon branch on Atlanta Highway has fully debuted fresh green signage, new automated system platforms + updated live-teller drive-thru services.

While local branch faces + teams are expected to remain consistent, account features, debit card transitions, routing numbers + online portals have completely shifted to Huntington.

Because system-wide platform overhauls frequently attract bad actors trying to exploit consumer confusion, Huntington corporate leadership issued an explicit security warning ahead of the transition to keep customer accounts secure.

Beware of fraudsters: Fraudsters may try to impersonate Huntington Bank or Cadence Bank during the Cadence Bank transition. We will never unexpectedly call or send messages asking for your account numbers, usernames, passwords or any links to secure your account.”

The Montgomery branch is now operating under its newly aligned lobby + drive-thru schedule. Local customers requiring assistance with the online banking crossover are advised to utilize the updated mobile app or visit the Atlanta Highway branch lobby to speak directly with a representative.
