Cadence to Huntington Bank transition: What Montgomery customers must know

A piece of Montgomery’s banking landscape is getting a fresh look this month. Following an acquisition earlier this year, the Cadence Bank branch on Atlanta Highway is officially joining the Huntington Bank family.
Here is the breakdown of what to expect during the transition + what the new hours will look like for local customers.
Cadence Bank to Huntington Bank transition in east Montgomery
If you’ve driven past the branch at 6836 Atlanta Hwy. lately, you might have noticed temporary Cadence Bank banners draped over the permanent Huntington Bank signage. This lone Cadence branch in the capital city is currently in the final stages of integrating its systems after Huntington’s recent acquisition.
Because of the timing of the transition + the Juneteenth holiday, the branch will have a brief closure period to finalize the digital and physical switch:
- Thursday, June 18: Final day operating as Cadence Bank
- Friday, June 19: Closed in observance of Juneteenth
- Saturday, June 20: Closed for final system transition
- Monday, June 22: Grand reopening as Huntington Bank
Note on ATM services: According to signage at the branch, ATM deposits will be unavailable from Thursday, June 18 through Sunday, June 19. Plan your deposits accordingly!
Huntington Bank extends hours + services for Montgomery branch
The move isn’t just about a name change—it’s also bringing more convenience to east Montgomery commuters. Once the doors reopen on June 22, the branch will debut significantly expanded hours for both the lobby and the live teller drive-thru, staying open much later than the previous Cadence schedule.
New Live Teller Hours at Huntington Bank:
- Monday – Friday: 7AM-7PM
- Saturday: 8AM-12PM
By offering a 12-hour window during the week, the branch is positioning itself as one of the most accessible banking spots for those working traditional 9-to-5 shifts.
