Reading time: 2 minutes

An east Montgomery shopping center is adopting a fresh identity ahead of its new anchor debut.
Bellwood Shoppes has officially taken on a new primary moniker as Hana Plaza, named for upcoming Korean grocery store Hana Mart. Located at 2747 Bell Rd., the brand-new store shared in a recent social media update that it is targeting a mid-November grand opening.
Hana Plaza’s transformation takes shape

While a sleek new pylon sign prominently displays the new Hana Plaza title, the center still pays homage to its roots by keeping the historic Bellwood Shoppes designation on the monument structure.
The arrival of the highly anticipated Hana Mart fills the long-vacant anchor space previously occupied by defunct Alabama grocer Bruno’s, which closed its doors in 2009. Spanning a massive footprint, Hana Mart plans to stock a wide array of specialty international goods alongside familiar American grocery staples and a dedicated K-Beauty section.
The busy plaza sits alongside a diverse mix of international dining and retail tenants, including Metro City Bank, Kung Fu Tea and Yokohama Japanese Restaurant.

After years of intermittent activity and quiet spells at the property, momentum is finally picking up. Neighbors and local shoppers are closer than ever to seeing a vibrant retail destination breathe fresh energy into this corner of east Montgomery.
