Montgomery 8U All-Stars crown impressive season with World Series win

Montgomery is beaming with pride as a new team brings home a world championship title. The Montgomery 8U All-Stars brought home a national title by winning the Diamond Youth Baseball World Series in Laurel, Mississippi, against teams representing 11 Southeastern states. Now, the capital city is getting ready to celebrate the young champions in person.
Throughout the tournament, Montgomery’s young athletes proudly represented the city on the national stage. For the team, the championship is first and foremost a celebration of the players, coaches and families whose hard work, teamwork and dedication made a remarkable season possible.

How Diamond Youth Baseball boosts the River Region economy
The Montgomery 8U All-Stars’ victory comes during an exciting period of growth for youth and amateur sports in the River Region. Earlier this summer, the city welcomed the Diamond Youth Baseball Regional World Series to Lagoon Park, hosting 32 teams, bringing over 500 athletes and coaches and generating approximately 1,100 hotel room nights.
Continued investment in facilities like Lagoon Park is positioning the city to attract regional events that generate valuable visitor spending for local hotels, restaurants and businesses. That momentum will continue in July 2027, when Montgomery hosts both the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 6U and 8U World Series.

Celebrate the Montgomery 8U All-Stars at DABOS Park
Local sports fans can celebrate the Montgomery 8U All-Stars in person on Saturday, Aug. 29, when the Montgomery Biscuits recognize the team at DABOS Park, formerly Riverwalk Stadium, during their 6:05 p.m. game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
