Driving to 17 Springs in Millbrook? What to know about new traffic signals

Drivers heading through Millbrook will now see newly installed traffic signal heads at the intersection of Highway 14 and 17 Springs Boulevard.

Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) crews have officially put up the signal heads, which are currently covered as the project moves into its next phase.

Officials say the signals will remain covered until they are placed into a flashing test mode the week of August 17. ALDOT plans to fully activate the lights on Tuesday, Aug. 25. In the meantime, drivers leaving the complex will find a stop sign in place to ensure smooth traffic flow.

These key safety improvements arrive as visitors flood the popular regional hub. The 17 Springs complex houses a large multipurpose sports, entertainment and commercial center, drawing crowds year-round. Guests can currently enjoy the newly opened Baumhower’s Victory Grille, with 1220 Cafe and Chick-fil-A set to open soon.

Local leaders emphasize that these safety improvements will make a significant impact on traffic management along the AL 14 corridor during peak hours and major sporting events.

The Elmore County Development Authority noted that infrastructure milestones like these signals ensure 17 Springs remains accessible, safe and ready to welcome athletes and families for years to come.
