Culver’s eyes new restaurant in east Montgomery
Reading time: 2 minutes

Plans are moving forward to bring a new Culverโs restaurant to east Montgomery!
The proposed 4,400-square-foot location is on Chantilly Parkway, in front of AMC Chantilly 13 theater and Home Depot. It would sit alongside Marc-1 Car Wash and Krystal, directly across the street from Walmart and newly opened The ONE at Montgomery luxury apartments.
Before construction can begin on the new spot, project leaders hit a key milestone with the city this week.

City board approves variances for new Culver’s in Montgomery

The item appeared before the City of Montgomery Board of Adjustment on Thursday night to request four sidewalk variances. The project team requested three-foot-wide sidewalks instead of the standard seven-foot width required by local zoning ordinances. The board unanimously approved the request after learning the sidewalks are designated solely for employee use to serve customers in the drive-thru lanes.
City records show the proposed restaurant is associated with franchisee Johnny Griggs, who, along with family and business partners, operates Culverโs locations in Phenix City, Alabama and neighboring Columbus, Georgia. Site renderings reveal that the proposed Montgomery location will feature two drive-thru lanes, aligning with modern design layouts seen across newer locations nationwide.
What’s on the Culver’s menu

If you aren’t familiar with Culverโs, the popular Wisconsin-based fast-food chain is renowned for its signature menu items, including:
- Wisconsin Cheese Curds โ Bite-sized, deep-fried white cheddar cheese curds
- ButterBurgers โ Made-to-order burgers pressed and cooked fresh after you order
- Fresh Frozen Custard โ Crafted throughout the day in rich, creamy small batches
The brand’s menu also features crisp chicken sandwiches, buttered seafood dinners and crinkle-cut fries.
The chain has steadily expanded its footprint across the Yellowhammer State in recent years, making the capital city a natural next step for its growth. Weโll continue to follow the proposed restaurantโs progress closely and keep you updated on what comes next as Culverโs prepares to enter the Montgomery market.
