An east Montgomery property once intended for a big-box retailer is being transformed into the city’s newest luxury apartment community.
The ONE at Montgomery is now leasing + officially began welcoming its very first tenants earlier this month. The highly visible space sits at 10510 Chantilly Pkwy., offering residents a convenient location right next door to Walmart + just minutes away from the premier shopping, dining + entertainment at The Shoppes at Eastchase.

How the east Montgomery property shifted from retail to residential

The prime piece of real estate has a fascinating history. The land was previously owned by Lowe’s, which originally intended to build its second home improvement store in Montgomery on the site. Had the project moved forward, the retail giant would have competed directly with the city’s second Home Depot store located just across the street.
However, Lowe’s eventually backed out of the development deal and sold the property. Following a rezoning application, city leaders officially approved the land for residential use in 2023. Fast forward to today and the site features 264 apartments spread across 11 three-story buildings, with some phases still actively under construction.
