Wharf Casual Seafood has officially closed one of its Montgomery locations after 10 years of operation.
The popular regional restaurant chain announced the closure on Sunday of its eatery located at 3954 Atlanta Hwy.
“We are incredibly grateful for the memories, friendships, and support you’ve shared with us over the years. Thank you for being part of our journey.”

A look inside the space shows the chain has quickly removed the menu board + several interior fixtures, with chairs stacked on top of the tables.

Wharf Casual Seafood shifts business strategy

According to a notice left on the restaurant’s doors + a message posted by the chain on social media, the company is shifting its focus to standalone restaurants and moving away from smaller spaces in strip centers like the one on Atlanta Highway.
The business decision marks a turning point for the brand’s footprint in the River Region, as it prioritizes larger, dedicated properties over shared retail spaces.
Other Montgomery-area Wharf Casual Seafood locations remain open
If you are still craving their signature seafood baskets, you are in luck! While the Atlanta Highway spot is gone, the Wharf location in Eastchase remains open, which is also located in a strip center with other retailers.
The Wetumpka location continues to operate as a full-service restaurant, occupying a larger, standalone space in a former Shoney’s.
