The Hanger: New indoor rock climbing gym coming to Prattville

The Hanger, the River Region’s very first indoor rock climbing gym, is making its way to Prattville as the area’s newest destination for family fun.
City officials announced the new development Tuesday, Aug. 4, bringing a “one-of-a-kind” experience designed to cater to climbers of all ages and skill levels.

Located at 781 Old Ridge Road, the future home of The Hanger sits right in the curve next to AmeriFirst Bank and directly across from Dollar General.
On-site signage shows that Millbrook-based Webb Builders Inc. is heading up construction for the project. Crews are already busy on-site carrying out early site prep to prepare the property.
Once completed, the state-of-the-art venue will offer residents a dedicated local space for active recreation, community events and indoor climbing without having to travel outside the region.

Those eager to scale new heights won’t have to wait too much longer to join in on the action. According to city leaders, The Hanger is currently scheduled to open its doors in mid-2027. The facility aims to serve as a major recreational anchor for local climbing enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
