Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons broke ground on a new state-of-the-art clinic and surgery center in east Montgomery on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026.

Community members, supporters and company representatives gathered for the ceremony to celebrate the major economic and health care investment. The event also served as a special celebration honoring Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons for 30 years of dedicated medical service across the River Region.

The upcoming facility will be located at 7580 Halcyon Pointe Dr., just off Interstate 85 at Taylor Road (Exit 9). By selecting this location, the practice joins a prominent commercial, business and medical corridor within Halcyon Summit.

The new two-story facility is expected to feature a modern design with glass facades and stone accents. The layout includes a covered patient drop-off canopy supported by stone pillars and expansive clinical and surgical areas.

As a regional practice, Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons specializes in the comprehensive evaluation, treatment and physical rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions, as well as complex sports medicine and work-related injuries.

Across its medical practice, the group offers specialized care including:

Hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, foot and ankle care
Joint replacement and robotic-assisted surgical techniques
Non-surgical treatment, spine care and physical therapy
Sports medicine, fracture management and orthopaedic injury evaluation

Thursday’s ceremony marks the second major groundbreaking for Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons this month alone. The team also recently broke ground on a multi-story medical office building within Millbrook’s 17 Springs development.

Already operating multiple locations in Montgomery, Prattville, Wetumpka and Tallassee, the practice continues to grow its footprint.
