River Region staple Adams Drugs opens new store in Tallassee

Adams Drugs, a longtime fixture of the River Region health care community, has added a brand-new city to its lineup: Tallassee.

First opening its doors on Adams Avenue in Montgomery back in 1964, the locally owned pharmacy chain has spent nearly 65 years bringing personalized, “old-fashioned” customer service to central Alabama. Now, Tallassee residents can experience that same trusted care right in their own backyard.

Where to find the new Adams Drugs in Tallassee

Adams Drugs opened its 12th location across the River Region on Monday, Aug. 18. The store is located at 24 Herren Hill Rd. in Tallassee, just off Friendship Road.

Tallassee residents and frequent travelers will easily spot the new location, which sits adjacent to Community Hospital. The storefront fills the space left by Herren Hill Pharmacy and Gifts, which closed its doors in November 2024.

The team behind Adams Drugs shared that they are proud to expand into Tallassee and look forward to serving local patients with dedicated, friendly service.

Planning a visit to pick up a prescription? The store is open Monday through Friday, 8AM-6PM and closed on weekends.
