Proposed Gunter Creek Trail would connect Maxwell to Highland Park

A new trail could soon be coming to Montgomery.
The Gunter Creek Trail is proposed by River Region Trails Inc. It would follow the Three Mile Branch watershed, connecting the Maxwell Air Force Base to the Highland Avenue Trail.
This would link different areas including:
- Morningview
- Dalraida
- Forest Hills
- Garrett Coliseum
- Ann Street shopping center
- Exchange Club Park

This trail was identified in the organization’s master plan and later included as part of a 30×30 strategic plan created in collaboration with the city.
A feasibility study has not yet been conducted but that is expected to ultimately determine what’s possible in terms of both water management and trail development.
