Reading time: 2 minutes

Plaza Pizza is now open in downtown Montgomery, breathing new life into a recently vacant restaurant space and giving locals and visitors a delicious new dining option.
Here is what you need to know about the capital city’s newest restaurant.
New downtown Montgomery restaurant opens near EJI sites

The new Italian eatery is located at 350 N. Perry St., directly next to Little Donkey Mexican restaurant. The space was previously home to HERO Doughnuts and Buns, which closed its doors in April.
Plaza Pizza is backed by the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) and Brigaid, an organization that focuses on bringing high-quality, wholesome food into community spaces, according to a job posting for the new spot. With this partnership, the restaurant is conveniently located near the major EJI historic sites downtown, making it the perfect spot for a lunch break during a day of touring.
