Patients and residents in the River Region are facing a sudden healthcare change as Physicians Choice Dialysis has closed both of its Montgomery clinic locations.

Although the closures appear to have happened recently and both locations remain listed on the company’s official website, local visits confirm that operations have ceased. Signage has already been removed from both sites and the phone lines at both facilities are no longer operational. Calls to the company’s primary and associated numbers also failed to go through.

Known as Physicians Choice Dialysis of Sapphire, the east Montgomery facility originally opened in late 2019 at 8149 Decker Drive, just off Atlanta Highway.

The second local facility, Physicians Choice Dialysis of Montgomery, on the city’s south side, opened in late 2019 at 2201 E. South Blvd.

The specialized outpatient clinics provided comprehensive care for individuals dealing with chronic kidney disease, offering vital treatments like in-center hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training before shutting their doors.

A specific reason for the sudden closures of the Montgomery facilities remains unclear, as Physicians Choice Dialysis representatives have not publicly detailed the decision.

Fortunately, patients seeking continued care have access to several other dialysis centers located throughout Montgomery and the surrounding River Region.
