Popular high-end athletics brand Lululemon has shuttered its Montgomery storefront after a four-year run.

The chain closed sometime in August, though an exact date wasn’t immediately available.

Signage has been removed from the former retailer’s space at 7060 Eastchase Pkwy., leaving behind a label scar. Located along a busy stretch of the outdoor lifestyle center, the covered windows mark the vacant space sandwiched between Everbowl and Aerie.

A look back at the Montgomery Lululemon store

The former Lululemon space at The Shoppes at Eastchase is now quiet after four years in Montgomery.

Lululemon opened its doors with great fanfare in Fall 2022 in what was originally announced as a pop-up location. It quickly became a go-to spot for River Region shoppers looking for activewear and athleisure gear.

Known worldwide for premium athletic apparel and lifestyle gear, the brand featured everything from signature align leggings, sports bras and moisture-wicking workout tops to technical outerwear, accessories and men’s athletic wear.

A listing on the company website shows Lululemon operating several locations throughout Alabama, including one in Auburn. Shoppers can also visit brick-and-mortar storefronts in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile—or simply order online to have their favorite gear delivered straight to their door.

While the former Lululemon storefront is currently quiet, it creates an exciting opportunity for a fresh new concept to join one of the center’s most vibrant retail corridors. The Shoppes at EastChase continues to thrive with a diverse lineup of regional favorites and national destinations, making this prime spot between Everbowl and Aerie a highly anticipated opening.

Montgomery UP has reached out to Lululemon and Eastchase officials for comment.
