Now closed: 5.11 Tactical shuts down Montgomery storefront

Shoppers and outdoor enthusiasts in the River Region may need to adjust how they shop for gear. 5.11 Tactical has officially closed its Montgomery storefront in recent days, marking an end to its five-year run at The Shoppes at EastChase.
The store opened in Fall 2021 at 7235 Eastchase Parkway, Ste. 102, sharing a building with Foy Dental Care P.C. in a space that was once home to the LifeWay Christian Store. Now, the 4,700-square-foot space is listed for lease through SRS Real Estate Partners.
EastChase loses popular tactical gear store after 5 years
A notice posted directly on the front glass doors at 5.11 Tactical confirms the sudden closure, instructing customers that any product returns must be handled by contacting customer service or visiting another retail location.
A peek inside the empty storefront reveals that the transition happened quickly: merchandise has been boxed up into dozens of cardboard shipping containers, shelves are empty and the signature wall spaces have been cleared out.
While the brand does not have any other locations nearby in the immediate area, 5.11 Tactical still maintains a presence in Alabama with stores remaining in both Birmingham and Huntsville.
Finding 5.11 products after the EastChase exit
The 5.11 Tactical store previously served as a go-to destination for law enforcement, military personnel and public safety professionals looking for high-performance clothing, durable footwear and rugged outdoor equipment.
Although the dedicated brand storefront has shut down, shoppers looking specifically for 5.11 gear can still find products locally at area retailers like Gulf State Distributors, Academy Sports + Outdoors and Bass Pro Shops.
