Cheering on the Hornets is about to get even easier for sports fans across the River Region. A new broadcast agreement will bring select Alabama State University (ASU) sports and athletic events to local television.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) TV announced a joint partnership with Triple B Media and Gray Media to simulcast dozens of upcoming SWAC sporting events. Under this new partnership, matchups will be available free over-the-air on local channels, as well as streamed on the digital SWAC TV channel.

Gray Media owns three local broadcast stations that serve the Montgomery area:

  • WSFA 12 (NBC affiliate)
  • WCOV 20 (FOX affiliate)
  • WIYC 48 (Cozi TV affiliate)

This new partnership means local ASU Hornets fans can cheer on their favorite teams right from the comfort of their living rooms.

“We remain committed to making SWAC athletic events accessible to our fans through a variety of viewing options,” said SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland. “We appreciate the continued efforts of our media partners to support the visibility of our member institutions and student-athletes.”

While specific game schedules and broadcast matchups were not immediately released, fans eager to catch Alabama State University sports should monitor local TV listings and official university announcements.
