Montgomery’s renovated Therapeutic Recreation Center to reopen April 20

Montgomery’s newly renovated Therapeutic Recreation Center (TRC) plans to reopen on April 20th.

Presently, parks and recreation staff is completing the process of moving all supplies, equipment and materials from the temporary facility back into the newly renovated permanent building.

Located at 604 Augusta Ave. the facility received the following improvements:

  • New roof
  • New flooring
  • New family restroom
  • Updated furniture and lockers
  • New pool fans for the indoor pool
  • Modernized kitchen appliances

Haven’t visited the Therapeutic Recreation Center? The 26,000‑square‑foot facility features a gymnasium, indoor pool, fitness and game rooms, meeting areas, a kitchen, a greenhouse, a patio, and an accessible playground. 

The center offers weekday programs for community members of all ages, including adaptive sports, arts and crafts, cooking lessons, music classes, and signature events like the Spring Prom and Special Olympics activities.
