The Montgomery-made Hyundai Tucson has officially been named the best compact SUV for camping in the country.
The regional favorite secured the top spot on U.S. News & World Report’s inaugural 2026 Best Adventure Vehicles list.
Here is what makes this national recognition a big win for the River Region, along with a breakdown of how our hometown vehicle clinched the crown.
Driving the River Region forward
Both the standard gasoline Tucson and the Tucson HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) earned the Best Compact SUV for Camping honors.
Built right here at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama facility in Montgomery, the Tucson lineup has long been a staple of our local economy. This award highlights the world-class quality coming straight out of our city.
