Is Spirit Halloween ghosting Montgomery this year? What to know

Shoppers in the River Region may be getting a trick instead of a treat when it comes to finding a Spirit Halloween storefront this year.
The seasonal retailer has removed the Montgomery location from its 2026 store location listing.
At the beginning of the month, the chain revealed its opening slate, which originally listed a store at 7951 Eastchase Pkwy. in the Eastchase Market Center, the former home of JOANN Fabrics and Crafts and the same location used during the 2025 season.
Closest Spirit Halloween locations for Montgomery shoppers
Though Halloween is Oct. 31, Spirit Halloween generally opens its doors in early August.
Many locations in Alabama are already open, while others are set to make their debut in September. As it stands, the closest open or scheduled locations in the state to the River Region are situated in the Birmingham area.
That means local shoppers looking for an in-person store visit will need to plan a drive up Interstate 65 to make their seasonal run.
