Here are four events you can attend this weekend:
Hot air balloons, laser show + more in Montgomery

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and secure a perfect a spot on the grass to watch the Montgomery Hot Air Balloon Festival light up the sky in a dazzling display of color and light.
In addition to the balloon rides and laser show, there will be live music, food trucks, retail vendors, games, and activities for children.

Jazz on the Grass at ASU

Calling all jazz lovers! Enjoy an unforgettable night of timeless jazz under the Alabama sky.
The event is headlined by celebrated guitarist Slim Gambill, known for his 13-year tenure with country group Lady A.
He will be joined by local favorites Ron Hardy and The Montgomery Jazz Alliance, bringing Montgomery’s rich jazz scene legacy to life.

Back-to-school drive + giveaway in Montgomery

With three weeks until school is back in session, The Israel of God church is holding its annual community back-to-school drive, giving school necessities to those in need.

- Clothing
Attendees can also expect there to be games, an arcade trailer, free food and drinks.

Cloverdale Playhouse showcasing “The Emperor’s New Clothes”

Montgomery’s community theater, the Cloverdale Playhouse, is staging an adaptation of The Emperor’s New Clothes, based on the classic story by Han Christian Andersen.
The play follows a con artists Flo and Roscoe as they con a fashion-obsessed Emperor with an invisible cloth.
- When: Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at 7PM + Sunday, July 19 at 2PM
- Where: The Cloverdale Playhouse, 960 Cloverdale Road
- How much: $20 per adult, $12 for groups of 10, and $10 for students
