Alabama-based chicken finger pioneer Guthrie’s is officially opening its newest location this week and the grand opening celebration comes with a massive perk for early birds!
The highly anticipated Wetumpka restaurant is holding its grand opening Tuesday, June 9 at 10AM. The eatery will be open from 10AM to 9PM daily.
Guthrie’s leads the way at Wetumpka’s River Town Center
Located in the River Town Center at 26 Line Drive, the brand-new spot is the first eatery to join the new shopping center, which only includes Tractor Supply Co. It is fully equipped to satisfy your cravings, however you prefer to visit. The fast food restaurant features:
- A spacious dine-in area
- Quick to-go ordering
- A convenient drive-thru lane

To celebrate planting roots in Wetumpka, Guthrie’s is rewarding its most dedicated fans. The first 100 customers to purchase an original Box Combo will receive FREE Guthrie’s for a year!
If you want to secure your spot and score a year of free chicken, here are the official rules you need to know before you camp out:
- Arrive early: Cracking the top 100 requires joining the physical lineup well ahead of the 10AM ribbon cutting.
- Stay in line: The first 100 guests must remain in line continuously until the doors open. If you leave the line for any reason, your spot will be awarded to the next person.
- No cars allowed: This promotion is strictly for walk-up line participants and is not eligible for drive-thru customers.
- Age requirement: You must be 16 or older to participate and must be physically present in line to receive an official line number.
The lucky first 100 guests will receive a voucher book valid for one free Original Box Combo every month for 12 months.
The Guthrie’s grand opening team will randomly draw 10 extra-lucky winners from those first 100 guests to receive the ultimate weekly award: one free Original Box Combo every single week for an entire year.
This opening marks the first Guthrie’s location in Wetumpka, joining two in Montgomery and one in Prattville.
