Nothing says fall season in Central Alabama quite like catching outdoor movies under the stars with a lawn chair and a cozy blanket. As cooler evening breezes roll into the area, cities and local organizations are setting up big screens.
From hilarious comedy classics to spooky Halloween favorites, here are four upcoming screenings across the River Region this autumn.

1. Free drive-in movie: I Still Believe
- When: Friday, Sept. 11 | 7:30PM
- Where: 1349 Old Ridge Rd, Prattville
- Details: Load up the car for a classic drive-in experience featuring an inspiring feature film, free food and community gathering.
2. The Green Truth Movie Night Series: Next Friday
- When: Sunday, Sept. 20 | 5-8PM
- Where: Crenshaw Park (1371 Crenshaw Rd, Wetumpka)
- Details: Presented by the Council on Substance Abuse, this free community event features free food and local connections for young adults. Register on Eventbrite.
3. Spooky Movie Night: Hotel Transylvania
- When: Saturday, Oct. 3 | 6PM (Movie starts at 7PM)
- Where: Pratt Park (460 Doster Rd, Prattville)
- Details: The City of Prattville hosts a free family screening on a massive 40-foot inflatable screen. Wear your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy local food truck vendors!
4. “SINNERS” outdoor Halloween movie night
- When: Saturday, Oct. 10 | 8β11:30PM (Doors at 7PM)
- Where: 4701 Narrow Lane Rd, Montgomery
- Details: Kick off spooky season in person with scary flicks, costume contests and great vibes under the night sky. Be sure to bring snacks and a blanket.
