A go-to Montgomery destination for sweet treats and savory bites has officially reopened! The Cheesecake Empori-Yum welcomed customers back on Thursday, Aug. 27 after taking a brief pause this summer.
Founded a decade ago by owner Monique Wright, the storefront operates alongside Wright’s full-service catering business at 5311A Wares Ferry Rd. in Montgomery.

If you stopped by the storefront recently and found locked doors, there was a very inspiring reason behind the temporary closure. Wright paused walk-in operations for the summer after being awarded a major contract with the local YMCA to feed roughly 800 children per day across eight locations.
“It was amazing, but it left no room for walk-in customers to come in. So, we had to make that difficult decision to close for the summer.”

What to order at The Cheesecake Empori-Yum in Montgomery
Now that the team at The Cheesecake Empori-Yum is serving walk-in guests again, there is plenty to get excited about. The bake shop is welcoming customers back during its updated business hours: Thursdays and Fridays from 2-6PM, and Saturdays from 12-5PM.
Wright plans to expand her dessert menu even further, but guests can already dive into this week’s lineup of signature slices, including:

- Chocolate Oreo
- Red Velvet
- Pecan Pie

Beyond the sweet showcase, The Cheesecake Empori-Yum is equally famous for its savory creations. The signature lineup features unique stuffed egg rolls, including a standout soul food egg roll packed with roasted chicken, cornbread and collard greens.
These savory rolls bridge the gap between comfort food and quick bites, making them a hit with regular visitors.
