Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches invests in new Montgomery supply hub

The Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches (ALSYR) has broken ground on a brand-new donation and storage facility in Montgomery.
Located behind the organization’s administrative offices at 2680 Bell Road, the milestone ceremony held Wednesday, July 23, marks an exciting new chapter in ALSYR’s 60-year history of providing safe, supportive and structured residential environments for Alabama youth.
Construction on the new Montgomery facility is moving quickly, with completion expected later this year.

Streamlining statewide donations from a new Montgomery facility
The new facility will serve as the statewide hub for collecting and organizing donated goods, operational supplies, equipment and event materials. From this centralized Montgomery spot, resources will be distributed across ALSYR’s four functional ranch locations: boys ranches in St. Clair and Baldwin counties, and two girls ranches in Colbert and Tallapoosa counties.
Right now, leaders say ALSYR supports more than 70 children residing in Christian, patriotic and family-centered homes.
Officials expect the new storage and distribution center to accomplish key goals, including:
- Enhancing donation stewarding: Better manage incoming contributions from individuals, churches, civic groups, and local businesses.
- Streamlining logistics: Improve supply distribution to ranch locations across the state.

60 years of building brighter futures for Alabama youth
Founded in 1966 by Alabama’s sheriffs, the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches originated in rural Dallas County with its very first ranch house, Tine Davis Hall. Over the past six decades, the nonprofit 501(c)(3) has grown into a vital statewide organization dedicated to providing stability, guidance and opportunity to young people facing difficult life circumstances.
As ALSYR celebrates its 60th anniversary milestone, the new Montgomery donation center reflects an ongoing commitment to expanding services and strengthening community partnerships.
