7 ways to celebrate Pride in Montgomery this June

June is Pride Month, and the community is ready to celebrate! The River Region is hosting a vibrant lineup of festivals, gatherings and social events designed to bring people together, uplift local voices and showcase LGBTQ+ pride.
Whether you are looking for live performances, community art projects or a family-friendly festival, there is something for everyone in Montgomery this Pride month.
Here are seven ways you can celebrate Pride in Montgomery this June.
1. K-Prodigy PrideFest at The Sanctuary

Celebrate with a high-energy, all-ages festival in downtown Montgomery. K-Prodigy PrideFest is bringing a packed schedule of entertainment to The Sanctuary, featuring everything from games to a unique cosplay runway. The event is completely free to attend.

- BL/GL cosplay + dress-up runway
- Local shopping with a variety of vendors

2. Colors United Art Club

If you love getting hands-on and creative, Montgomery Pride United’s monthly art club is the perfect Saturday afternoon stop. Open to youth and young adults, every session features a brand-new project to try out.
- What to expect:
- Beginner-friendly art space with a unique project provided each session
- Open to ages 13–29
- When: Saturday, June 13 | 2-5PM

3. Colors United Youth & Young Adult Social Groups
Looking to build community and meet new friends in a safe, supportive space? Montgomery Pride United hosts regular open hours and social gatherings twice a month at the community center, split into two age brackets to keep programming relevant.
- Youth Group (Ages 13–18): Tuesday, June 16 | 6-8PM
- Young Adult Group (Ages 19–29): Friday, June 19 | 6-8PM

4. Packing Party with Yellowhammer Fund
Join forces with the Yellowhammer Fund for an evening of community service, fellowship + mutual aid. Volunteers will work together to build resources for the community while enjoying a relaxed, welcoming environment.

- A free, all-ages gathering to pack sexual wellness kits
- Complimentary food + drinks will be provided
- When: Thursday, June 18 | 5-9PM

5. Trans/GNC Peer Support Group
Montgomery Pride United hosts a bi-monthly peer support group specifically dedicated to providing a safe, open space for trans, gender non-conforming and questioning individuals to connect.

- Opportunity to share individual struggles + successes with peers who share similar identities
- Free pizza available at every meeting
- When: Tuesday, June 23 | 6:30-8PM

6. Community Center & Thrift Store Open House
Get to know the faces behind the organization! Every fourth Saturday, Montgomery Pride United opens its doors wide to the neighborhood for a day full of community joy, connection and great finds.

- Light refreshments
- Staff + volunteer meet-and-greets
- Special discounts throughout the thrift store + community center
- When: Saturday, June 27 | 10AM-5PM

7. ‘I Am Proud!’ Art and Music Festival

End the month with Montgomery Pride United’s signature warm-weather event. Partnering with the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, this big celebration highlights local talent through visual and performing arts.

- Unique festival experience showcasing the River Region’s vibrant art + music scene
- Everyone is welcome to attend!
