There is nothing quite like starting your morning, or curing a mid-afternoon slump, with a perfectly crafted drink from a local cafe! Luckily, Montgomery’s caffeine scene is booming with unique flavors, gorgeous spaces + sweet treats.
We took a mini tour through Montgomery’s vibrant neighborhoods to find the ultimate local caffeine fixes. From local staples to a hidden hotel gem, here are six spots you need to check out.
1. Hilltop Public House | Downtown
Hilltop Public House is known just as much for its cozy community vibes as it is for its creative menu. We ordered the Bramble Latte ($7), a perfect balance of rich espresso + fruity sweetness. If berries aren’t your thing, they have an entire lineup of fun signature drinks like the Reese’s peanut butter latte, lavender latte + cookie butter latte.

2. Prevail Coffee | Downtown
Prevail Coffee, located right in the heart of downtown, is a must-visit. We tried their signature Alabama Stinger ($6) and it completely blew us away—though honestly, all of their signature drinks are worth recommending! Bonus: They have a beautiful outdoor patio space out back featuring a stunning local mural that makes for the perfect morning backdrop.

3. Lorraine’s Bake Shop | Downtown
Part bakery, part coffee haven, Lorraine’s Bake Shop is a dream for anyone with a sweet tooth. We treated ourselves to a rich Affogato ($5.20) paired with their Signature Cookies ($3.12), including a decadent chocolate chocolate chip cookie. Looking for more? They also whip up incredible homemade oatmeal cream pies, fresh banana bread + rotating seasonal baked goods.

4. Elevation Café | Downtown
Tucked away on the first floor of the Elevation Convening Center & Hotel, Elevation Café is a hidden gem + a super convenient stop if you are in the area. We tried their blended Caramel Vanilla Frappe ($7), which was the ultimate afternoon pick-me-up. To round out your visit, the cafe also stocks assorted fresh muffins, overnight oats + grab-and-go market sandwiches.

5+6. 7 Brew | Midtown + east Montgomery
If you need a quick, delicious drive-thru option to power through your day, 7 Brew is a go-to. We regularly enjoy their Iced Blondie ($7.15), a smooth, creamy caramel vanilla breve that hits the spot every single time. There are two 7 Brew locations in Montgomery:
