Two Piggly Wiggly stores held grand opening events this week in Montgomery, both of them at former Winn-Dixie locations.
The two new stores will be under the Food for Less model. They are located at:
- 7945 Vaughn Rd, Montgomery, AL 36116
- 4724 Mobile Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36108

Vaughn Road
The new store in east Montgomery has been open since January but it held a grand opening event this week with the Montgomery Region Chamber of Commerce.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday, March 12 then free samples were given out Friday.
A “spot the pig” competition is scheduled for Saturday, March 14. Customers can spot the pig in the store, take a selfie and post it online to receive a $10 gift card.
The location is open 7AM-10PM every day.
Mobile Highway
The Mobile Highway location just opened in March so the grand opening was a little more timely.
Friday’s events included:
- Ribbon cutting
- Live high school band performance
- Live radio broadcast from MIX 103.3
- Spot the pig contest
- Free lemon cookie samples
- Free Kretschmar product samples
The free samples will also be available Saturday.
Piggly Wiggly Food for Less
