Arts and creativity continue to serve as vital engines for community engagement, youth education and economic growth across Central Alabama. In its latest quarterly funding round, the Alabama State Council on the Arts recently announced a massive $3.9 million statewide investment across 201 organizations and educational institutions.

A substantial portion of that investment is heading directly to Central Alabama. In total, 17 local non-profits and educational organizations in Montgomery, Tuskegee and Wetumpka earned arts grants totaling $487,000 across operating support, project implementation, and statewide coordination.

State leaders said that these grants strengthen the broader quality of life across Alabama while creating key opportunities for learners, artists and families alike.

“These investments help ensure that everyone in our state has access to the transformative power of the arts,” said Elliot Knight, executive director of the Alabama State Council on the Arts. “We encourage people to explore upcoming events and artistic programs in their communities and experience firsthand how state investments enhance the quality of life in Alabama.”
